Countdown to Christmas: Week 1
- Dec 1, 2025
- 2 min read
There's something magical about the beginning of December after all the autumn festivities. Lights go up, evenings feel a little cosier, and the excitement of the holidays starts to settle in. To help get into the holiday spirit, this first week of the Christmas countdown is filled with simple crafts, sweet treats, and thoughtful hosting touches that make the season feel warm from the inside out.
Day 1: DIY - Candy Sleighs

What you need:
Candy canes, chocolate bars, smaller candy bars, Santa chocolate, ribbon, bow, tape and a hot glue gun.

Depending on your style, you can add other candies to Santa's sleigh.

Tip: I recommend hot gluing the candy canes to the chocolate bar for sturdiness.
Day 2: DIY - Handmade Christmas Cards
Hand-painted Christmas cards add such a personal touch to the season. They’re easy to make, fun to customize, and carry a kind of thoughtfulness that store-bought cards simply can’t match.

Day 3: Hosting Tip - Name Tags
Name tags are such a simple detail, but they instantly make guests feel seen and welcomed. It’s a tiny touch that adds warmth, intention, and a little festive charm to your table.
Day 4: Simple Joy - Ribbon Tip
A curled ribbon adds an instant festive touch, bringing a little movement and charm to any gift. For the full how-to, check our Pinterest on December 4th!

Day 5: Simple Joy - Gift Wrap

You will need your gift, scissors, tape, ribbon, a marker, circular candies, and any additional décor you'd like to add.

Thoughtful wrapping turns any gift into a moment of joy. Keep it simple with clean paper, a pop of ribbon, and a small touch.
Day 6: Sweet Holiday Treats - Nougat Cookies

There’s nothing more festive than baking cookies with someone you love—especially when the kitchen fills with holiday spices and laughter. These nougat cookies are simple, fun, and the perfect treat to share (or sneak a few before gifting!).

Day 7: DIY - Candy Wreath
Ending the week with a sugary sparkle — a DIY candy wreath that’s equal parts festive and fun. Perfect for gifting, decorating, or nibbling later.
This first week eases us into the season with small, meaningful moments — the kind that quietly set the tone for a warm and joyful December. Each simple joy is a reminder that the holidays don’t need to be grand to feel special.
And we’re only just getting started. Next week will bring even more inspiration — from festive décor to seasonal treats and thoughtful hosting ideas — little touches to make your days feel even cozier. ✨
