Planning a Last-Minute 4th of July Picnic Abroad

The Fourth of July is almost here, and after my original plans unexpectedly fell through, I found myself planning a last-minute 4th of July pcinic in the park. ❤️🤍💙

Living abroad definitely makes a spontaneous 4th of July celebration a little more challenging. Unlike back in the states, you can't simply pop into a store and find shelves filled with stars, stripes, and patriotic decorations. Instead, I had to get a little creative with anything red, white and blue, and of course, rely on the magif of next day delivery.

Even with the last-minute scramble, I'm so happy with how this 4th of July picnic is coming together. One of my favorite parts of hosting is finding simple ways to make a gathering feel thoughtful. Whether it's choosing a color palette, packing everyone's favorite snacks, or adding one small festive touch, it's the little details that make people feel welcome.

The best part is that there really aren't any rules. Your picnic can be as simple or as elaborate as you'd like. Hosting isn't about having the perfect setup, but about creating a space where friends and family can slow down, enjoy good food, and spend time together.

Thankfully, red, white and blue are classic colors that are suprisingly easy to find almost anywhere. I mixed everday grocery staples with one or two festive pieces, and suddenly, everthing started to feel perfectly patriotic. One of favorite simple combinations is serving strawberries, blueberries, and vanilla ice cream together. However, for a picnic, serving ice cream gets a bit trickier. However, many times, hosting is about making the most of what you can find, embracing a little creativity, and enjoying the traditions that still make the day feel special.
